Hyperlinks from Email Open new tab which forces the user to log in again (Silverlight)

I have a Silverlight application where the user logs in and we load up a heap of data from the server and cache it in memory. This application will often send emails to a user which contain a hyperlink back to the same Silverlight application.

Is there any way that we can prevent the hyperlink from the email opening a completely new tab in the browser which forces the user to sit and wait for the entire Silverlight application to reload once again?

Ideally we would like to force the hyperlink to direct the user back to the application which is more often than not, already open. If it's not open, then sure, open up a new tab and load the Silverlight application, but if it's not then just direct the Url from the hyperlink into that tab.

Any idea if this may be possible?
